The current COVID-19 crisis has caused people around the world to stay home. However, dancing isn’t canceled as multiple festivals and artists have started live streaming performances. Dance music lovers can tune in to streaming platforms to watch virtual performances by numerous artists and even get a music festival experience of multiple days of dancing with a curated lineup. Many artists and companies are also using live streams to benefit organizations such as Recording Academy MusiCares and The Heart Water Foundation. We took the time to compile some of our favorite upcoming live streams to keep you dancing.
Virtual Festival Live Streams:
NTS Radio will stream Remote Utopias for 24 hours beginning this Saturday, and the event will bring together over 50 DJs, filmmakers, artists and musicians to benefit The Global FoodBanking Network. The virtual festival boasts an impressive lineup that spans numerous genres—we’re most excited for Skrillex, Tame Impala and Four Tet. The digital festival will take place over two channels and feature more than just music—even famed comedian Jonah Hill will perform.
This weekend, more than 50 artists, bands and partners will come together for Dreamworld Fest. The three-day virtual event will boast performances by artists such as Adventure Club, Snakehips and Sam Feldt. Dreamworld Fest will be raising money for The Heart Water Foundation with all funds raised directly supporting emergency resources for hospitals. Taking place May 1-3, World On Pause Festival will live stream performances by artists including Arty, SOFI TUKKER and Sander van Doorn. The digital fundraising event is presented by The Nocturnal Times, and it will benefit Recording Academy MusiCares, Feed The Children and Restaurant Workers’ Community Foundation. Tune in on May 2 to Relive Awakenings Gashouder ADE 2019. The digital festival will replay performances from acclaimed acts Joris Voorn, Enrico Sangiuliano, Adam Beyer and Charlotte de Witte.
Global Dance Festival will host a digital version of their flagship event on May 9-10. The virtual festival will feature performances by artists, including Big Gigantic, Ducky and JVNA. Global Dance Digital Festival will be raising money for Direct Relief, and all donations will benefit the organization. RSVP here.
Although EDC Las Vegas is postponed until October, Insomniac will be hosting a virtual version of the festival on the weekend it was originally supposed to take place: May 15-17. Insomniac has been live streaming renditions of their festivals with impressive production setups that match each festival theme, and the EDC Vegas rave-a-thon is sure to not disappoint. Previous live streams have included Beyond Wonderland, Middlelands and Nocturnal Wonderland. Catch the EDC Vegas live stream onYouTube, Twitch or Littlestar. If you can’t wait until May 15, you can watch Insomniac Rewind, which is a 24/7 stream of previous Insomniac festivals.
Bass music festival Lost Lands will host its digital version, aptly named Couch Lands, in early May. The virtual event hasn’t announced dates yet, so be sure to follow them on Twitch to be notified when the streaming goes live. Couch Lands will boast new sets by acclaimed artists such as Boogie T, Level Up and Blunts & Blondes.
